I did get to tell you a little bit about transfers though. Like I said
I will be going to Vancouver WA to serve in the Mountain View Ward and
the Clark YSA branch in the Vancouver Stake. I am excited to be going
over there in the dryer season. I will be serving with Sister Faamau
from American Samoa. She has been out a little over a year and I hear
that she is a very good missionary. So I am excited. I leave Wednesday
morning and its a 4 hour drive, non-stop. We will be stopping at the
transfer site so it will take a little longer with that, but not too
bad.
I was a little nervous about transfers and so I was praying that the
Lord would give me peace about it and this entire last week before I
found out I was leaving I was telling everyone that I knew I was
leaving and then it wasn't as much of a shock once we got the call.
Sister Chatwin and Lush will be staying in Walla Walla and this is
Chatwin's last transfer so she goes home on June 26th. That makes me
the most sad out of everything! I will miss her SO much but she said
she would write me so we will see how that works out, haha!
On Saturday we went to the Walla Walla balloon stampede! About 30 hot
air balloons were all around us! It was so cool. I will send some
pics! We also went that night to see the "night glow." It reminded me
of the lanterns in "Tangled!" Except the hot air balloons didn't take
off at night...I will send pics of that too!
We are teaching a lady named Margaret. She is so awesome but she has a
lot of health issues. She has a granddaughter that is a member of the
church and has shared a lot about the gospel with her. Margaret wants
to go to the temple but she is not sure if she is ready for baptism
yet. We tried to put her on date for June 23rd and she said that she
would pray about it. We encouraged her to do that and we will be
praying for her as well. She will be baptised because she has felt the
Spirit so strongly, she is just nervous to say yes!
Anyways, I gotta go! have a wonderful week! I love you all so much and
it was great to see and hear you!

I Love To See The Temple
What's up!? So I hope you noticed that I am writing on a Tuesday
instead of Monday our normal p-day. We got to go to the Columbia River
Washington Temple today. I was so excited to get to go! It was funny
when I was telling Sister Chatwin how excited I was she told me that
on her mission she has found that when the time comes around for our
temple trips she has definatly found the need to be there and feel
that peace and love. This is the second time in this temple. Its so
pretty! Its alot like the one in OKC but just a tiny bit bigger. I
have been told to go to the temple with a question and I couldn't
really think of anything besides recieving futher knowledge that the
Lord had in store for me today. I have been feeling kind of nervous
about transfer calls this Saturday. I have know idea what is going to
be happening other than that I am 99.9% sure I will not be with Sister
Chatwin anymore and I will no longer be a greeny missionary! This
makes me so nervous! So I decided that while I was at the temple today
I would feel peace when transfers come. I didn't get a mighty
spiritual confirmation or anything like that, but for simple purposes
I just feel like everything will be ok. I am so thankful that my
Father in Heaven knows me so personally and that I can depend on him
to answer my prayers.
As for transfers there is pretty much an unlimited amount of
possibilities as to what could happen. We make transfer predictions in
our district and everyone predicted that I will be leaving Walla Walla
and that is what makes me so nervous I guess. I stinkin' love it here!
I love the people; the members, the investigators, the college
students (there are 3 colleges in Walla Walla), and even the all the
crazies we get to meet! This is also going to be Sister Chatwin's
last transfer of her mission. Its so interesting how this is all
working out.
Anyways, our tripanionship is still fantastic and we are still
preaching the gospel. I love reading the Book of Mormon. It is quickly
becoming my favorite book ever! (As it should be, haha)
We had exchanges this last week with the sisters in West
Richland. They were Sister Crandall and Sister Call. Sister Chatwin
has been companions with both of them and she even used to serve in
West Richland. We decided that Sis Call would come to WW and Chatwin
would go to WR. Call served in WW and so it was returning to the old
stomping gounds for both of them. This is Call's last transfer so she
will be home in less than a week! So weird! She is a hoot! She is
pretty loud and very pretty! She was one of the sisters that took me
out my very first night in Washington, before I was with Sister
Chatwin. It was a fun day and full of visits. She wanted to see a
couple of people that she had taught when she was here a few months
ago. I don't know if I told you that my area used to be an Elders
area. Sister Call and Sister Hudson were the lucky sisters that got to
open the area for the sisters in September last year. Chatwin and I
were the 3rd set of sisters in this area since 6 years ago. The
members were pretty excited to have sisters, to say the least! haha!
Anyway, it was pouring rain the entire day of transfers so I am glad
that we had enough people to see and things to do so that we didn't
have to go knock on doors in the down pour!
After church on Sunday we had a linger longer at the church for
the break the fast and that was a lot of fun. Tons of people and not
enough food, so we ate scanty and went home at the end of the night to
finish eating some dinner.
We did some service this week for a lady in our ward that has a
jungle for a backyard. We 3 and the RS pres and her 1st counselor were
all there and we did a man's job! It felt awesome. I pulled a muscle
in my thigh though so that doesn't feel to good when I stand up or sit
down, but it helps me remember that I did a hard days work! I love it!
We are teaching a 27 year old named David. He is the fiance to
Stephanie one of the girls in our singles branch. She wants to get
married in the temple so she told him he better straighten up his life
or she wants to break up (this was before he proposed.) Well he is a
miner in nevada and he said that one day he was at work and he pulled
his rig over to the side of the mine and looked up towards the ceiling
and said to God, "Why? Why is my life so hard right now?" He said that
he heard a voice tell him that, "The road he is on is the road he is
supposed to be on." And that was a confirmation to him that he needed
to start looking into the church. He works 7 days on for 12 hrs a day
and then 7 days off. So on his week off he comes to Walla Walla to
visit Stephanie and her 2 year old daughter Savannah. We taught David
3 times this last week and we will teach him again when he comes back.
He is already committed to baptism. I have never felt the Spirit this
strong while teaching on mission. Everything we teach him its like he
has heard it all before but he couldn't remember it. They are worried
that her family will think that he is just getting baptized to make
them happy but I can see the difference, he is doing this for himself
and his own salvation. He is what we call a "golden investigtor" its
truely a miracle!
Anyway I am going to attach some pictures and get off for the
day! I can't wait till Sunday when I can skype home and see everyone!
I can't wait till you get to meet Sister Chatwin and Sister Lush! They
are so amazing! And you might even get to meet Brother and Sister
Young since we will be skyping from their house! I love you all so
much and I love getting mail so keep it coming! haha, See you soon!
The church is true! The Savior lives and loves us. Read the Book of
Mormon daily and feel the peace and love that it brings! Share the
gospel and find people for the missionaries in your area to teach!
