I am so excited that I have been a missionary for 10
months now...It seems SO unreal! Its December which seems even more
unreal, lol. This last week was great! We had a lot of lessons and
fasted for a lot of things so hopefully we will be seeing even more
success in the coming weeks. We are so so so excited this week because
Lucas is getting baptized on Saturday and he is totally ready for
this. He practically planned his entire baptism which is totally
awesome! I will be sure to send pictures next week of the event. :)
This week we had the Festival of the Nativities. It was
almost exactly like the one we had back home but this one has been a
regular thing in this area for 12 years now. It was at my old Stake
Center so we couldn't go by ourselves. A couple of the ladies that we
are teaching (mother and daughter) took us to go and see it. It was so
neat and the Spirit was so strong. It was so awesome to be able to
remember the true meaning of Christmas with those that I get to bring
the message of the restored gospel to. I know that they really enjoyed
it as well.
A lot of people have been asking me about the weather here
this time of year. To be honest with you it is pretty weird. It will
be rainy, windy, cold and miserable for a little bit then it will
lighten up and drizzle. Sometimes it will start off just overcast and
not raining for a bit of the day and then start to rain/drizzle later.
The sun seems to make its appearance sometime during the day but never
for very long. It gets light outside about 7ish and gets dark outside
about 4:30-5ish. It is very hard to have the desire to go and knock on
people's doors when it is dark and rainy and cold. lol...But you gotta
do what you gotta do.
I am going to try to send some pictures to explain the
reasoning for the title of my email. Do not be alarmed. It was an
accident and ALL IS WELL in the Kingdom. :) I will also send an
individual email to you mother with a list of things that I have thought
would be nice to receive for Christmas. Please share it with others as
you wish.
I am so excited to be a missionary at Christmas time! It is
going to be the best! People seem to have a more open heart when the
Christmas Spirit is in the air. I know that it is not going to get any
easier but it is definitely going to get more exciting and meaningful
for me as well. The Lord is hastening His work. I hope you can feel
it. The end is near, we may not know exactly when He will come again
but we know that it not much farther away. I am so happy that I chose
to serve and that I came here to Washington. It obviously wasn't my
first choice but I know that the Lord needed me here. I love it here!
I love everyone that I have met here and I love everyone that I
haven't met here. It is such a different feeling...haha!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and I look forward to
hearing from you and skyping home for Christmas. We will be doing it
from the Comb's home (where we live). They have high tech stuff so
we'll please try to have a better connection this time! ;) lol I love
you all! Happy December!
